OPEN TASK 2
I extended one of images from my [Siteworks II] work to produce a gif.
I am in love with the 1960s and 70s minimalism and conceptual art movement, and I find a lot of my views of art influenced by the attitudes of that time.
For example, right after my first studio session in week 1, I felt very passionate and dramatic about art and wrote myself a manifesto-type list of 'rules' for my art:

GROUP INSTALLATION
Categories we thought to sort them by:
- Sizes (to frame and balance the show)
- Colour Palette (Soph, Isere and India's have similar tones)
- Medium/ subject matter (textile, text, body castings, etc...)
We started with my screen-based work and Amy's work as the middle, because of their size and shape.
When we split into smaller groups, we decided that Lily Spencer's massive smiley face would look great displayed at the end, facing perpendicularly to all the other works, greeting the viewer.
Alisha's and Reese's works were displayed together, and it worked beautifully. The other works fell into place as well.
The varying display heights created a rhythm. It followed almost a narrative structure, which eased us into the show with Isere's piece on the floor, and created a visual climax at Lilly Bryant's painting.
However, when viewing the works more closely, I thought that the tone crescendoed at Rhys's and Alisha's work, with Lily Spencer's work being a really cool resolution.
About my own work in the group show, I would've ideally liked to present it with headphones, because I felt like the sound was interfering with everyone else's works. However, Charles pointed out that the sound didn't necessarily clash as much as I thought it did, because of its rhythm. I still think it'd benefit with headphones though, because it would give the work another layer of audience engagement.
